As our culture evolves the movement needs to as well. We are still quite a ways away from this world understanding, valuing, and honoring women/the feminine. It needs to be alive in women, for starters, in their daily lived experience. There’s still more to be done on this foundational level of The Movement.
Most women still understand the menstrual cycle to only be a matter of an unfertilized egg being released from the body, or menopause to only be a process due to not getting a monthly cycle anymore. It’s too much to expand on in this article, and I will definitely do more in other ones, but for now, suffice it to say that it couldn’t be a more limited ignorant perspective served up by The Patriarchy of those magical, potent, deeply transformative, multi-facted, multi-dimensional, and immensely mystical initiations and processes of a woman’s life, and their essential importance to the health of humanity. To briefly mention - the processing of collective and ancestral wounds that moves through a woman’s process during those experiences.
To me, the modern feminist movement is about women opening up the next layers to be explored, developed, and refined, of our own greater awareness, understanding, and respect of feminine energy within ourselves, our relationships, and how we create our lives.
In order to honor something, one must first be curious enough and want to understand it. Understanding gives way to respect and value assessment. High value is something we honor, because anything of high value is typically rare and/or hard earned, or yields results of significant benefit.
From what I can tell, women who “make it big” in our world tend to do so through depleting their feminine energy, and existing in a perpetual state of hyper-masculine mode. That’s not a judgement, big props, regardless! It’s a progressed expression of a survival mechanism that women created once more power was placed into their hands, welcoming them into the work-force.
And of course - women are capable of a lot of what men are, and at the same time, just because we can doesn’t mean we should. Women gaining more power doesn’t have to mimic power in the ways men are capable of. Women are powerful in ways unique to them. There are fundamental differences between men and women, and they are to be acknowledged, honored, and celebrated. Doing so will put men and women in right relationships with themselves and create healthy polarity between them.
How each person relates to their masculine and feminine energies is a deeply personal and highly nuanced relationship. There is a wide spectrum of each energetic. For example, women who are naturally more assertive and logical, and men who are more emotional and intuitive.
Perpetual states of hyper-masculine mode creates burn-out, chronic fatigue, adrenal depletion, hypertension, anxiety, depression, disconnection to the body and lifestyle principles for self-care and well-being. It disconnects a woman from her intuition, authenticity, truth, wisdom, power, creativity, and pleasure. It imbalances polarity in her relationships, leading her to be over-controlling and dominant, and not creating space for her man or her children to be assertive with their will, their needs and desires. In the least bit, it leads to a lower quality life experience, and that in itself is enough of a reason to at least consider what I’m laying down here.
“When the woman’s happy, everyone’s happy.”
We live in a world created by men, for men. It’s a world that didn’t foresee women entering into the workforce, so there was no accommodations made to the needs of women. Men’s biological clock resets every 24 hours, women’s does so every 28 (ish) days. So for women to “win the game,” they’ve had to deplete their feminine energy to keep up with the pace of men’s productive energy. We are seeing that the way it’s been done for approximately the last 100 years is actually depleting women, and causing an array of physical and psychological illnesses, and causing significant relationship strain.
Women were also depleted of their feminine energy prior to 100(ish) years ago, just in a different way. So far, I’ve not seen evidence that there has ever been a time in our recorded history when women’s collective feminine energy wasn’t depleted… men’s too. We can lump it altogether and just say The Feminine. It’s the result of imbalances created by the ignorance and negative agendas of The Patriarchy.
Why do we have so many unhappy unhealthy women in our world? That’s a big question with a massively multi-faceted answer…
To me, at this day in age, it’s because women are still yet to fully understand what their feminine energy is, how to take care of it, how to have healthy boundaries and will power to support it in their daily lives.
This is where my work comes in. I am here to help grow women’s understanding, see its value, and how they can best be honoring it through the lives they live and choices they make. This is the next step of our feminist movement. Each choice we make is either in service to it, or hinders it. It is not about being perfect, but it is about being devoted to and engaging with a process.

I question the benefits of women being forced to join the workforce. It’s one thing for a woman to choose, and if she gets to do it in ways to also still support herself as a woman. I just see women “wearing too many hats,” and the severe depletion it’s caused. Especially because most careers women are naturally drawn to don’t pay very much (again because they are not valued enough in our world). I’m not suggesting I have the answers on this complex matter, but I am saying that there’s a lot about how it’s working that’s not working.
If it’s true that “When the woman’s happy, everyone’s happy,” and that happy healthy mothers are more likely to create happy healthy humans, this topic is definitely at least worth considering. To me, it’s really a topic connected to how we can help make the world a better place. We need more happy healthy humans, and it starts with more happy healthy women.
